Arizona: Southern Deserts
Phoenix, Arizona may be one of the most unsustainable cities in the world. It is surrounded by a harsh and unforgiving landscape that sees very little rain and supports very little life. The air is dry, the sun is hot, and yet the city still thrives. Surrounding the sprawl however is some of the most intriguing landscapes in the country. This tortured land hold little to no water and as a result sees no visitors in many places. Ancient dwellings and relics of its past inhabitants tell an eerie tale. The Saguaros and the coyotes are your only friends out here, singing songs into the evening beneath a sky as clear as water.
